Marketing Intern
Description
A position at Angels Vocal Art guarantees that interns will receive hands-on experience associated with the internal operations of a prominent performing arts organization.
This Marketing Internship position will function for approximately 15-30 hours a week, for a total of 400 hours, from December 1, 2024 through March 1, 2025. Interns are paid $6,912 for the 400-hour internship ($17.28/hour). The job will be hybrid with the possibility of being fully/majority remote.
Key Responsibilities include:
- The creation of AVA-related promo materials for regular daily posting on social media.
- Selection and reformatting (as needed) of photos and video clips which are deemed as appropriate for social media posts and the AVA Website.
- Utilization of Facebook and Instagram analytics to optimize performance.
- Act as one of the public "faces" when representing AVA as the point of contact for audience members, patrons, artists, and directors.
- Provide assistance with the creation of weekly promotional videos and interview sessions with faculty, talent, board and audience members.
- Assist with all printed material projects including program books, flyers, and advertisement as needed.
- Help organize marketing-related events, including fundraisers.
- Help manage all ticketing operations, including data entry and analysis.
- Identifying the important sources and points of contact for advertisement of AVA-related activities.
- Designing an ongoing newsletter for frequent issuance.
- Create materials and forms as noted in Jotform and Mailchimp, and extract data.
- Compilation of upcoming press releases and other AVA-related announcements.
Qualifications:
- Some experience in graphic design, Canva, Photoshop, or other.
- Basic video editing skills.
- Social media and digital marketing experience.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Can think outside the box, multi-task at a very effective level in a fast-paced working environment, and can simultaneously work on a wide variety of high priority projects.
- Effectively create a friendly, welcoming and professional demeanor, especially when interacting with artists, audience members, potential donors and venue personnel.
Preferred Characteristics:
- AVA hopes to identify someone containing a vision of successfully connecting with a wide spectrum of communities and demographics.
- Someone with an interest in the arts, especially performing arts, is a plus.
Eligibility
This Marketing Internship position will be open to currently enrolled part-time or full-time undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who reside OR attend college in Los Angeles County. Recent graduates may apply as long as they have completed their degree between May 1, 2024 and December 1, 2024.
Note:
- Students who have already earned a BA, BS, or a higher degree are not eligible (unless recently graduated).
- Students who have previously participated in the LA County Arts Internship Program are not eligible to participate a second time.
- Students who are invited to participate in the program will be asked to provide verification of eligibility via college transcripts, driver’s license, and other documents to show enrollment status and/or LA County residence.
