Disney Entertainment Strategic Communications Intern, Summer/Fall 2025

About the Role & Program:

Join Disney Entertainment Television (DET), the television production division of The Walt Disney Company, as a motivated Strategic Communications Intern! This role offers a broad spectrum of communication experiences encompassing corporate, internal, and visual communications, as well as involvement in media relations and more! This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Burbank, CA area from June 2025-January 2026.

 

What You Will Do:

Along with mentorship from our dedicated team, we will provide our intern with comprehensive guidance, access to necessary tools, and invaluable experience for a future career in television communication. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Shadowing team members across various departments on a rotational basis.
  • Assisting in organizing meeting agendas.
  • Taking and distributing detailed meeting notes.
  • Updating and leading tracking grids for event assets.
  • Collaborating with Corporate Communications to coordinate and monitor executive awards and lists.
  • Participating in Internal Communications "CONNECT" events for employees and potentially press events (which might occasionally involve evenings and weekends).
  • Contributing to other large-scale internal executive "All Staff" meetings.
  • Occasionally supporting video shoots and satellite media tours as required.
  • Aiding in writing and planning articles for the internal newsletter.
  • Media monitoring and crafting industry news summaries
  • Maintaining corporate lists and materials including but not limited to executive bios and boilerplates.

 

 Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Curiosity and a strong desire to learn.
  • Experience in crafting presentation materials.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams) and Keynote and the ability to quickly adapt to new software.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in the entertainment industry
  • Hands on experience in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in media studies, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related fields.

 

Education:

  • Junior or Senior year preferred
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in media studies, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related fields.

 

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization

 

Additional Information:

  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Burbank, CA area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2025 – January 2026.
